Chester Race Company have the fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated Area Manager to join the Operations team, based in the historic centre of Chester on a casual contract.
This role will be pivotal in supporting the Race day Duty Manager to deliver exceptional guest experience from start to finish by ensuring their defined site zone is well presented, that guests ingress and egress smoothly and that teams are appropriately resources to deliver friendly, knowledgeable and prompt service.

The successful Area Manager will be responsible for:
Ensuring all operational areas are ready for gate opening by supporting delivery teams with equipment and checking site zones are to standard
Monitoring guest ingress and reacting to queues
Continuously monitoring site presentation standards, escalating to contractors as required
Monitoring key aspects of guest experience and reacting to and resolving any issues with colleagues, Wi-Fi, catering service or security as appropriate
Coordinating with staffing coordinators to redeploy and stand down staff as required
Overseeing guest egress points, to ensure it is delivered in a timely, friendly manner with a high quality “goodbye”
Collating feedback and observations throughout the day to identify areas of improvement
The successful Area Manager must have the following:
Previous experience as an operations or people manager, working major events within a high people-traffic environment such as sporting events or visitor attractions
Familiar with safety principles around counter terrorism
A professionally curious and eager attitude to identify and drive potential improvements for guest experience
The ability to successfully motivate teams as a high-energy leader
Our rates of pay:
£21.01 per hour
Shift availability:
Every and all Chester race meetings and, where required, major event days.
Start times will be 2 hours prior to gates opening and 2 hours from bars closing.
A typical race day tends to be 11 hours
