Equestrian Retail Supervisor

Rokers is an independent Animal Feeds, Equestrian and Country Store which has been in business for over 60 years. Based in a leafy setting in Worplesdon, Guildford, we pride ourselves on offering a friendly shopping experience with excellent customer service and a high level of product knowledge. We recently moved into a brand-new purpose-built shop and we are looking for someone with experience in retail and an interest in equine to join the team as a Supervisor. The role is based in our Equestrian division. The successful candidate will have experience in a retail environment and good knowledge of equine. This is a hands-on role and the key responsibilities include: • Working alongside the Equestrian shop Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the shop. • In charge of the shop on the Manager’s days off • Providing an excellent level of customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere • Leading, motivating and training junior members of staff • Assisting with marketing and promotions. • Driving sales - increasing footfall and upselling to optimise profitability • Managing costs - theft prevention and waste control • Stock management • Cashing up • Adhering to health & safety and legal requirements Requirements for the role: • At least 2 years experience in the retail sector (essential) • Experience in equine • Excellent interpersonal and customerservice skills • Friendly and approachable nature • Ability to lead and motivate a team • Rama trained (or willing to undertake the training) Benefits • Pension scheme • Staff discount (Animal Feeds shop, Equestrian shop and Cafe) • Free on-site parking The role is full time (40-45 hours per week over 5 days) and includes weekday and weekend work.
