Equine Facilitated Coach (Education & Therapeutic Focus) Seeds of Change is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and experienced Equine Facilitated Coach to deliver 1:1 equine‑facilitated coaching sessions. All delivery is individual — there is no group work in this role. The role supports children and young people with SEND, SEMH and ASD, many of whom are referred through schools, alternative provision, or local authority services. Sessions are educational and therapeutic in nature, supporting emotional regulation, confidence, communication, and engagement with learning through structured, trauma‑informed interaction with horses. Key Responsibilities • Deliver 1:1 equine‑facilitated coaching sessions during the school term • Support children and young people with SEND, SEMH and ASD • Create a safe, calm, structured, and trauma‑informed learning environment • Adapt sessions to individual EHCP outcomes, sensory needs, and developmental levels • Use observation and reflective practice to support emotional and behavioural development • Complete clear, accurate written reports, including session notes and progress summaries • Produce documentation suitable for schools, parents/carers, and local authorities • Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and safeguarding standards • Ensure the welfare and safety of both participants and horses at all times Safeguarding & Compliance • Work in line with Safeguarding Children and Young People policies • Follow Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) principles • Recognise and report safeguarding concerns in accordance with procedures • Work professionally within a multi‑agency context • Hold an enhanced DBS check (or be willing to obtain one) Essential Requirements • Relevant qualification in coaching, counselling, psychotherapy, education, or youth work • Training or certification in equine‑facilitated learning or coaching • Proven experience delivering 1:1 support for SEND, SEMH and/or ASD • Experience of professional report writing and educational or therapeutic documentation • Strong understanding of trauma‑informed, person‑centred practice • Confident handling of horses and sound knowledge of equine behaviour • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Desirable • Experience working with schools, alternative provision, or local authorities • Knowledge of EHCP processes and SEND frameworks • First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain) • Relevant professional accreditation Term‑Time Working This is a term‑time only role (38 weeks per year) aligned with the school calendar. There is no requirement to work during school holiday periods.
