We’re looking for a new member of the team at AP Equestrian - we are a busy, friendly and professional yard based just 5 minutes from Junction 18 of the M4 (near Bath & Bristol), and we’re looking for a full-time groom (or apprentice) to join us.
The role involves all usual yard duties, working with a lovely group of horses, alongside a supportive and experienced team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, takes pride in their work, and wants to be part of a well-run yard. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily care and maintenance of horses, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about animal care and interested in developing skills in animal husbandry.

Duties
• Grooming horses, including brushing, hoof cleaning, and bathing to maintain cleanliness and health
• Assisting with feeding routines and monitoring horse behaviour for signs of illness or discomfort
• Maintaining stables and surrounding areas, ensuring they are clean, safe, and organised
• Assisting with the setup and dismantling of riding arenas or training areas
• Handling tasks related to feed bags, bedding materials, or equestrian equipment.
• Riding & Exercising of horses depending on level of riding competency.
Qualifications
• Prior experience in animal care or equine management; training will be provided for specific duties
• Experienced groom, but apprentice considered.
• Strong commitment to animal welfare and safety standards
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and stand for extended periods
• Candidates should be competent riders capable of hacking and exercising horses.
