22.50 hours per week Flexible across 7 days between 09.00am -5.00pm) The Fundraising Department at Redwings is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join its front of house team at the charity’s Visitor Centre on a part time, fixed term seasonal contract at our Aylsham Visitor Centre. Salary; in line with National Living Wage, pro-rated to reflect the fixed term contract. In addition, we offer shift workers a premium pay rate on Sundays (time and a half) and Bank Holidays (double time). Interviews will be held : 15th 20th April 2024 Job Purpose To recruit and retain Redwings’ supporters and generate income via optimising the visitor experience. To warmly welcome all visitors, introducing them to the charity’s work, encouraging donations and promoting fundraising initiatives including Redwings’ Adoption Scheme. To always give excellent customer service. Fundraising To understand regular giving and make it simple and attractive to the supporter. To promote equine adoptions through knowledge of the equines and the scheme itself and through working closely with the farm team to offer opportunity to meet the equine. To be knowledgeable about current fundraising messaging, and appeals including Redwings’ rescues and welfare work. To communicate the same, as appropriate, to visitors. To carry out duties at the welcome desk and in the gift shop, café and kitchen as required. To adhere to internal and external / national procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and maintain reputation as well as profit margins. To undertake till transactions and handle monies with care and accuracy. Under line manager guidance, to continually monitor and maintain displays and stock levels, always considering stock rotation. To be knowledgeable about the product and to share with the visitor particularly those items that are sourced locally or are environmentally friendly. General To maintain a high standard of housekeeping throughout the visitor journey from arrival (car park, signage etc) through the welcome desk, kitchen, café, gift shop, toilets, and back areas as well as the memorial garden, walkways, benches, play and eating areas. To embrace working digitally, including Microsoft Teams and Outlook and Raisers Edge. To work efficiently and respectfully with colleagues across the site and the wider charity, ensuring information, messages and feedback are passed via the correct channels and are expressed in a respectful and appropriate manner. To respond to requests swiftly and accurately. Additional Duties • To undergo training as required. • To always act as an ambassador for the organisation. • To embrace any new duties that clearly fall into the remit of this role. • Undertake any other duties, which may be reasonably required. The post also carries governance and statutory responsibilities : i) Health and Safety aspects of the team’s work, within the Visitor Centre ii) Data protection and appropriate confidential All staff must be sympathetic to and able to project the philosophy and concept of sanctuary care and Redwings’ values. Essential Criteria : Education / Qualifications : Evidence of a good standard of general education and computer literacy in Word and Excel. Experience : Previous work experience is a bonus, but not essential for this contract. Skills / Ability / Knowledge : • Good communication skills • Good organisational skills • Good administrative skills. Qualities / Attributes : • Team worker • Personable • Flexible • Tactful • Observant. Other Requirements / I.T.Skills : Flexible approach to work. High regard for confidentiality. Willingness to learn new skills. Education / Qualifications : Food hygiene certificate, First Aid certificate. Experience : • Retail experience Café experience • Commercial kitchen experience • Experience of working in a front of house or a visitor attraction environment. Qualities / Attributes : Able to demonstrate an effective an effective approach to problem solving
