Graphics Operator

Reporting to: Head of Graphics Location: Ealing Broadcast Centre Hours of work: 7-day fortnight, average 40 hours per week About us: Racecourse Media Group is the umbrella organisation for those 35 racecourses which hold an interest in Racing TV (Sky 426, Virgin 536 and 411), Racing TV International (international betting shop/digital service) and Racecourse Data Company (licensor of Pre-Race Data). Racing TV and Racing TV International also broadcast racing from all 26 Irish racecourses. Job Purpose: An opportunity to work for the leading horse racing media rights organisation, as part of the production team in the main gallery at the broadcast facility in Ealing, West London. Job Accountabilities: In this role, you will be working as a member of the Racing TV gallery team, as one of four full-time Graphics Operators, ensuring accurate creation and playout of all graphics requirements for the channel output within a live playout environment. Measures for the role: Operating the Chyron graphics system in the Racing TV gallery, using the bespoke Racing Client interface Building and playing out graphics for the daily live programme and other programme strands and other special programmes as required Accurate playout of all graphics for the live show Compiling and building graphics based on details provided by producers and pundits Liaising with Assistant Producers to produce graphics for daily video analysis Liaising with Racing TV marketing department and bookmaking partners to create promotional graphics Providing graphics for Coursetrack’s tracking system; monitoring and reporting on accuracy of the data Setting up race data for the day, and prepping any graphics requested for the forthcoming days Manually inputting data and loading PA data to the Chyron Liaising with PA regarding any problems with data supply Training and monitoring performance of freelance operators Any other relevant information: This role would be suitable for someone with prior experience as a Graphics Operator in a live sports broadcast environment. Due to the racing calendar and nature of the role, the successful applicant for this role will be required to work a shift pattern rotation; evenings, weekends and bank holidays are an integral part of the shift system.
