Burley Lodge Equestrian Centre is a family run riding centre set in 180 acres of land in Shinfield, just south of Reading, Berkshire. We are a BHS approved centre with a highly commended status. Our equestrian centre houses 37 horses that are either full livery or working. We facilitate all riding abilities, providing private and group lessons, clinics, hacks, shows, stable management club, pony days, summer camps, tots toddles & much more….
The job will include all aspects of yard work – mucking out, grooming, turning out and catching in, tacking, and untacking the horses, poo-picking and general horse care as well as care of minor ailments, feeding.
The role includes no official training, however could be discussed when successful completion of probation. The hours we are looking for are during the week and can be discussed if interested in the role.
We are looking for a forward-thinking, motivated, and hardworking individual, with good equine experience. The successful candidate will be a good team player with excellent communication skills, and the ability to use their initiative.
Requirements
We are looking for an individual with the following skills, experience, and qualification:
• Minimum of BHS stage 1 care, however for the right candidate training can be given. • Experience of working on a busy, client facing yard • Safe and confident equine handling skills for a variety of horses and ponies
