We are excited to announce an opening for a Head of Horse Racing to lead our dedicated Horse Racing team. This pivotal role will oversee the development and implementation of cutting-edge quantitative models and strategies for horse racing betting, ensuring the delivery of a superior product to our customers.
Job Brief:
As Head of Horse Racing, you will spearhead the development and continuous refinement of our horse racing products. You will lead a team of experts in driving forward innovations that maintain and enhance our market-leading position. Your responsibilities will include:
• Strategic Leadership: Directing the Horse Racing team to achieve exceptional results, aligning with business objectives and market opportunities.
• Model Development: Crafting and refining mathematical models for horse racing odds, leveraging cutting-edge techniques in statistical analysis and predictive modelling.
• Collaboration: Working closely with software developers, traders, and other departments to ensure the accuracy and competitiveness of our horse racing products.
• Data Analysis: Utilising large datasets to derive insights and inform strategic decisions, ensuring our offerings reflect the latest market trends and data.
• Stakeholder Communication: Representing the Horse Racing team in cross-departmental meetings, conveying complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
• Team Development: Mentoring team members, fostering a culture of innovation, and ensuring a high standard of technical excellence and collaboration.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded professional with a deep passion for and understanding of the horse racing industry, complemented by strategic, operational, and leadership skills:
• Comprehensive Horse Racing Knowledge: Extensive experience in and knowledge of the horse racing industry, including familiarity with the global betting markets, key racing events, and regulatory environments.
• Strategic Leadership and Vision: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team, with a clear vision for the development and growth of horse racing products. Experience in setting strategic directions, making high-level decisions, and driving product innovation.
• Operational Expertise: Proven track record in managing operations within the horse racing or broader sports betting domain, including product development, project management, and stakeholder engagement.
• Analytical and Technical Skills: While a quantitative background is valuable, a broader understanding of data analysis, product metrics, and user experience in betting platforms is essential. Proficiency in using technology to drive decisions and innovations in the horse racing space.
• Collaboration and Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence across all levels of the organization and with external partners. Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including technology, trading, marketing, and customer service departments.
• Adaptability and Continuous Learning: Eagerness to stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements. Commitment to continuous learning and adapting strategies to meet the evolving demands of the horse racing betting market.
Location
The role is based in London, with consideration for hybrid/remote working arrangements for the right candidate.
