Equinutritive is a fast-growing equine supplement brand dedicated to improving horse health through natural, science-led nutrition. We are looking for a confident, strategic, and hands-on Head of Marketing to lead all marketing activity during a maternity cover period. You will own our brand storytelling, customer communications, and paid acquisition strategy, helping us grow our community of engaged, loyal horse owners.
About the Role
This is a broad, impactful role suited to someone who is comfortable switching between high-level strategy and day-to-day delivery. You will lead a high-performing marketing team of three, manage all channels — paid ads, email, content, social, and website — and work closely with the Managing Director on growth plans, product launches, and customer engagement.
The ideal candidate has experience in DTC/eCommerce marketing, is data-driven, understands subscription and LTV growth, and thrives in an agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Own the marketing strategy across acquisition, retention, and brand development.
Lead quarterly marketing plans, budgets, and performance KPIs.
Work closely with the Directors on growth priorities and business goals.
Maintain our supportive, friendly, horse-owner–centred tone of voice.
Performance & Paid Media
Manage all paid advertising activity across Meta, Google, Tik Tok by working closely with appointed ads agency.
Plan and execute campaigns focused on new customer acquisition and subscription growth with support of ad agency.
Monitor CAC, ROAS and retention metrics — reporting weekly and monthly.
Test new audiences, creatives, and offers to scale efficiently.
Email & CRM
Own our Klaviyo setup, including flows, segmentation, and automation.
Deliver email campaign strategy with a focus on education, trust-building, and retention.
Improve repeat purchase rate and subscription conversion.
Oversee all email output from the marketing team.
Content, Social & Community
Oversee organic social content across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
Create and repurpose content that educates horse owners without criticism or fear-based messaging.
Brief and manage creators, brand ambassadors, and user-generated content.
Manage customer surveys and insight-gathering to inform messaging and product development.
Brand & Creative
Uphold and evolve the Equinutritive brand style, tone, and visual identity.
Oversee copy for ads, emails, product pages, packaging, and printed inserts.
Manage creative production including designers, videographers, and photographers.
Ensure brand consistency across all customer touchpoints.
Website & Conversion
Manage website updates (Shopify) and optimise product pages, content, and landing pages.
Run CRO tests to improve conversion rate and onsite experience.
Collaborate on new product launches, ensuring strong website presence.
Insights, Reporting & Customer Understanding
Use Google Analytics, Shopify, Klaviyo, and paid channel dashboards to identify trends and opportunities.
Report weekly on channel performance, spend, revenue, and key customer metrics.
Stay up to date on horse-owner behaviour, equine health trends, and competitor activity.
Skills & Experience Required
5–10+ years of marketing experience (DTC/eCommerce preferred).
Strong track record overseeing paid social and search campaigns.
Experience with Shopify, Klaviyo, Meta Ads, Google Ads, and GA4.
Excellent copywriting skills, especially for consumer brands.
Strong understanding of analytics and performance metrics.
Highly organised with strong project management skills.
Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects at once.
Passion for natural health, wellbeing, or equine care (a plus).
