Equus Silvania is a horse farm and nature-based tourism destination in Șinca Nouă, at the foot of the Făgăraș Mountains. We welcome guests for riding holidays, trail rides, nature experiences, family stays and group programmes, while working to develop tourism that is closely connected to the landscape, local communities and nature conservation.
We are looking for two people who would like to take on the management of Equus Silvania together as a couple: a Location Manager responsible for the overall operation and guest experience, and a Horse Farm Manager responsible for the horses and equestrian operation.
The two roles are complementary and require close day-to-day cooperation. You will each have your own areas of responsibility, while working together to ensure that Equus runs smoothly and offers a high-quality experience to both guests and staff.
The Location Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day operation of Equus Silvania and acts as the main on-site contact for guests, staff and the wider Travel Carpathia team.
Main responsibilities
Guest experience & hospitality
● Welcome and host guests and ensure a warm, professional and consistent guest experience
● Establish and maintain standards and procedures for guest reception and hosting
● Coordinate meals, events, activities and group programmes
● Oversee food and beverage quality and service
● Ensure that the Equus philosophy and quality standards are reflected in daily operations
Tourism & programme coordination
● Coordinate the smooth delivery of tourism programmes and activities
● Plan schedules, staffing and logistics together with the Horse Farm Manager and booking team
● Contribute to the development of new tourism products and experiences with Travel Carpathia
● Support cross-promotion of other Travel Carpathia experiences
Team management
● Recruit, onboard, schedule and supervise permanent and seasonal staff
● Coordinate daily tasks and ensure a good standard of work, hygiene and safety
● Support a positive and respectful working environment
● Work closely with the Horse Farm Manager and equestrian team
Administration & finances
● Support operational budgeting and monitor expenses, revenues and stock
● Handle invoices and on-site guest payments
● Oversee purchasing, food management, cost control and waste reduction
● Work with local suppliers where appropriate
● Ensure that relevant administrative, financial and legal requirements are followed
● Contribute to longer-term planning together with the Tourism Manager and Business Development Manager
Property & operations
● Oversee cleanliness, maintenance and standards across the guesthouse, grounds and facilities
● Coordinate maintenance and operational needs with the relevant colleagues
● Organise the care of farm animals other than horses
Coordination with Travel Carpathia & FCC
● Maintain close communication with Travel Carpathia and Foundation Conservation Carpathia
● Provide operational input for marketing and communication
● Contribute ideas and practical feedback to the wider development of Equus Silvania
We are looking for someone with:
● Experience in hospitality, tourism, accommodation, outdoor tourism or a comparable management environment
● Experience leading and coordinating a team
● Strong organisational and project management skills
● Experience with planning, suppliers, schedules and day-to-day operations
● A practical understanding of guest experience and service quality
● Confidence with basic financial and administrative responsibilities
● A solution-oriented and responsible approach to problems
● Strong communication skills and the ability to work with different people
● Fluent Romanian and English; other languages are an advantage
● Good digital skills, including standard office software
● A hands-on attitude and willingness to work in a rural environment
● Category B driving licence; willingness to obtain BE for horse trailers is an advantage
