Set in the beautiful Berkshire countryside, Hall Place Equestrian Centre is a well-established horse riding school and equestrian centre offering high-quality lessons, care, and customer service. As our centre continues to grow, we’re looking for a friendly, driven individual to join our small and supportive team.
About the Role: This is a varied and rewarding position that blends retail sales, customer service, reception, and admin support. We're looking for someone who is not only confident with people but also motivated by results and ready to bring ideas that help the business grow.
You’ll report directly to the Head of Operations and should feel comfortable working independently, taking initiative, and managing your tasks without needing constant oversight. This role suits someone proactive and commercially minded, who wants to see the impact of their work.
This is a temporary role to start, with the opportunity to become permanent based on performance, commitment, and team fit.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Engaging with customers and encouraging them to explore more of what we offer — from riding lessons to retail products
• Bringing fresh ideas and energy to help us grow sales and customer engagement
• Proactively promoting our services, events, and products — both in person and online
• Driving revenue through upselling, excellent customer interaction, and spotting new opportunities
• Working towards weekly and monthly sales goals to unlock uncapped commission and performance bonuses
• Helping shape the shop experience — from product displays to promotions and customer offers
• Supporting with basic admin and booking tasks as needed
• Keeping the shop and reception areas professional and welcoming
What We’re Looking For
• A confident communicator who enjoys helping and engaging with people
• Sales-focused mindset — excited by achieving goals and earning commission
• Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
• Comfortable working independently and using initiative
• Highly organised, with the ability to juggle different tasks and priorities
• Positive attitude and a strong team player
• Confident using Microsoft Office and social media platforms
• An interest in horses or equestrian life is a bonus — but not essential
Working Hours
• Full-time role: minimum 35 hours per week
• Weekend availability required (Saturday and/or Sunday)
What We Offer
• Competitive salary
• Uncapped commission based on sales performance
• Staff discounts on products and services
• Discounted horse riding lessons (subject to availability)
• A supportive, friendly working environment
• Room to grow and shape the role as the business expands
A Note Before You Apply:
We’re proud of our team culture and want someone who is excited to be part of it. If you're looking for a short-term role, tend to be frequently unavailable at short notice, or prefer to stick to the bare minimum — this may not be the right fit. But if you're reliable, enthusiastic, full of ideas, and ready to help move a business forward — we’d love to meet you!
