Our Tech Stack
At Metric, we don't do half-measures! We believe in going beyond mediocrity. We've used the latest and greatest in backend tech to develop a multi-tenant, cloud-native sports betting platform. From our Kafka-driven gRPC microservices to our VueJS micro-frontend UI, paired with our “infrastructure-as-code” approach to deployments with k8s, we have created a truly distributed system.

If like our Trading Director you didn't understand a word of it, don’t worry - you’ll be dealing with completely proprietary and bespoke tools that we are consistently working to iterate and improve. If you’re even a little technically minded, the opportunity to build your own solutions and see them implemented exists like nowhere else in the betting industry. If you’re not, you’ll still make suggestions to optimise the way you and your team work, and then see improvements delivered by our tech teams in real time.
Your Day-to-Day
On a daily basis, you will act as a lead, whilst on shift, to manage and prioritise content, pinpoint gaps in Metric’s offerings, provide competitor analysis, and identify opportunities and innovations in the marketplace to create market-leading features. You will deputise for the Trading Manager when needed and oversee a team of traders, provide guidance, support, and supervision to ensure that they are effectively carrying out their responsibilities. This may involve reviewing analysis, discussing trading strategies, and addressing any issues or concerns that arise. The key to this position is that it requires a talented individual with strong racing knowledge, keen to work together with their colleagues to provide a first-rate service in a consistent and reliable manner.

Who are we looking for?
Proven experience as a previous Horse Racing Trader or in a similar role
Good knowledge of UK and International Horse Racing
Excellent IT/software knowledge including advanced-level of Excel skills
Excellent communication, process-driven driven and extremely well-organised
The ability to work during key racing festivals, weekends and bank holidays are essential
