Job Description
Are you passionate horses or dream of working with some of the finest thoroughbreds in the world? Godolphin are looking for dedicated Stud Hands to join their world-class team. If you have experience on stud farms and a passion for equine care, this role is perfect for you!
Reporting to the stud groom, you will be responsible for delivering equine care and stud maintenance to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide high-quality care to horses including feeding, grooming and general handling to ensure they maintain positive health and wellbeing.
• Assist with exercising horses as required to maintain their fitness.
• Maintain clean and safe working environments through mucking out and bedding.
• Participate in ‘Sitting-up’ to work through the night and monitor mares that are ready to foal or might be injured.
• Support in the general upkeep of the stud grounds through tasks such as raking, hedge trimming and lawn mowing.
• Operate machinery including tractors on occasion, assisting with transport, maintenance and other operational needs.
• Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth daily operations and uphold the highest standards of care and professionalism.
Qualifications
• Previous experience working as a stud hand.
• Good Knowledge of thoroughbreds and breeding.
• Ability to operate agricultural machinery when it is required.
• Good communication skills.
• Good time-management skills.
• Positive attitude towards the flexible hours needed to maintain the operation of the stud.
• A driving license is essential for this role.
