Hillside Animal Sanctuary is recruiting for a Horse Carer to support horses welfare and maintain the site at Haveringland , Norfolk.
Hours of Work: 7.30am - 5.00pm Summer Season, working 5 days over 7 with alternate weekends off. (2 week rota)
Job Description
Support an existing team to provide a high standard of care to rescued horses with special care needs and carry out necessary maintenance work to the site ensuring they are safe and secure.
Duties to include (but not limited to)
• Preparation of feeds & daily feed run operations
• Cleaning out of horses/deer paddocks, enclosures and water tanks
• Closely monitor animal health and well-being
• Moving, leading and grooming equines
• Maintain the upkeep of the site ensuring the horses are safe
• Ensure the site is kept tidy and orderly, free from any hazards
Skills/ Qualities
• Animal husbandry qualification or minimum 1 year experience working with horses
• Demonstrated passion for horses welfare
• Flexible working style with the ability to prioritise always putting the animals care first
• Excellent communication skills/team player skills is essential
• Excellent time-keeping and attendance to work
